Hi Guys, just wanted to let you know that I am really happy with this sunscreen. It’s just been two days since I used it, but the first thing I noticed is that it gets absorbed really well and doesn’t leave any white caste or oiliness. The face looks moisturised but not glowy – that’s what I had wanted. The consistency is fluid like and not creamy. It doesn’t make the face oily – and that’s the best part. I am gonna switch from Sebamed 30spf to this one if I don’t see any breakouts from it.
I am also planning to try out the Bioderma Photoderm AKN mat spf30. Let’s see how matt it is!
Both these sunscreens are on my wishlist too. But first my Photoderm has to finish. There is also a cream version of MAX fluid, which surprisingly contains the same exact ingredients, but is more expensive. It would be lovely if you could post a review of your experience with Max Fluid once you have used it for a little bit. 🙂 Review page for Max Fluid.
Wait a minutes, I see two tiny bumps on my face – one on each cheek – and all I have changed is to use this once a day in the afternoon for past three days. I hope they subside and no new ones come up so that I can enjoy this sunscreen. It makes the skin look completely natural. Fingers crossed x x x
I’ve already ordered the mat one too. 🙁
Bioderma, don’t betray us! 🙁 Keep your detective hat on Anuja.
Oops!! I have already ordered the max fluid 24 hrs ago without reading your 18 hrs ago comment Anuja , as my sunprotek was getting over…I will wait for your update again…..I am also praying for you..:)
Are we still doing okay on Bioderma Photoderm Max Fluid or getting breakouts? 🙂
My 4thday trial with that…Cant say anything now..Only that the finish i didnt like much compared to zoray ,sunprotek etc. :)..If you take a little more quantity it shows up a white cast.
No major breakouts yet !!
knock ! Knock ! @anujaaggarwal
Hi guys, I’ve been using it every day. Till now no breakouts, but those two tiny bumps are still there. They don’t look like acne though – but kind of irritated skin. I think the reason could be that Sebamed was more moisturising and calming in nature, so it felt good after applying, but this one is not that moisturising. So maybe the skin got irritated – or the reason could be anything else.
I also tried the Bioderma mat fluid 30 spf – it’s really matte – finally found a replacement for Lotus 3 in 1. I haven’t started using it yet as I want to first ensure that the 50 spf fluid is not causing any problems. And since my skin is fine with it, I will continue till the tube finishes.
@acnemantra – will definitely write a review after a month.
Out of the two – the mat one is way better as it doesn’t cause any shine at all. But I haven’t used it enough to comment yet.
Indu – I haven’t tried Sunprotek and Aquagel yet – they are not available anywhere in my locality in Bangalore. But reading the great reviews, I will try them for sure.
Hi Anuja, I have also felt the same with Bioderma, for me it was not calming like sunprotek. Bioderma behaves just like a typical sunscreen (with a typical sunscreen smell also), while sunprotek is like a moisturiser. But may be bioderma gives you a better sunprotection, what is your view in that ?
I will also finish using it and wouldn’t repurchase. The tube is small for the price, right?
One more doubt, have you bought it from Nykaa? What was the expiry date of the product you received?
One more mat sunscreen , I want to add in list i.e. la shield spf 40 ; infact its more matte than lotus 3 in one
Hi Indu, thanks for bringing the subject of expiry date. I never thought of checking this. One of the sunscreen’s expiry date is end of this year and the other one is in 2015 – so I guess, I am okay.
Thanks Parul, now there’s one more sunscreen added to my list.
Thanks to AM, we are finally getting more choices.
@parul, Oh that is good that La shield suits your skin…I had a bad experience with that( check this and this)..Used it for 3 days, I have a full tube left with me unused..scared to try that again.:( (Also I liked the finishing of Lotus more than La shield)..
May be i have a bad luck with sunscreens..:(
OMG Anuja , You never checked the date of sunscreens??
From where did you buy Bioderma?
The one i received is going to expire on this August.Only 4 mnths left.:( The Sunscreens nearing to there exp. date give less protection..
I get paranoid if the products dont have a shelf life of atleast 1.5 year left. That is the main drawback of online shopping ,i face.
Off topic , I have faced this issue so many times.. Once Purplle.com sent me already expired product which i had returned..Whenever I bought from Medplus Sale, they sent me products nearing expiry..Once i got TBS products with its label removed when i bought it on 20% discount.
@indurahul, I have only mentioned that la shied gives matte coverage only but yes I am agree with you that it suddenly gives a burning sensation on my skin and a quite feeling of uncomfortableness because of heat produced by it . I dont know why this product produces heat on skin?
I have used it 5-6 times only when I go outdoor but when I stay indoor, I only use Zoray one .But, in between I got big pimples on my cheek and forhead :(. I dont know the culprit sunscreen . Now a days I am watching the culprit one as I have stopped la shield usage and zoray one too after using it for 5 days continuation. Let my skin heal first then I will check the culprit.
I am wondering that might be these two sunscreen again failed to be non comedogenic.
If there are too many silicones in the sunscreen then it would feel warm after applying – thought it would be smooth to apply – but that uncomfortable feeling comes when the skin can’t breathe. Similar thing happens with Ansolar sunscreen. So La Shield is off the list then!
Exactly parul , even i got a pimple on my forehead, where i never get when i started La Shield. I was keeping it in fridge only as the ingredients got separated when i bought it..
I keep sunscreens in fridge when it says to keep below 25 degree..
I think before using La Shield , You need to moisturize your skin..
Just an update from me..I stopped Bioderma after a week’s usage and bought Sunprotek spf 50.
@indu – I am also not enjoying the Bioderma sunscreen experience. The 50 spf fluid one did cause a few bumps initially – but no breakouts – but the skin feels uncomfortable after a while. I can’t put my finger on the issue here. I will use this tube but not regularly. Only when I need spf 50 coverage for longer sun exposure – or if I need to carry sunscreen in my purse. Sebamed bottle is too big for that.
Now coming to the matte one – this broke me out. My skin was acne free for three-four months now and I used bioderma matte spf 30 sunscreen and saw one pimple the next day. I thought it might me a fluke and after a week used it again. Bump. One more popped up the next day – I am pretty sure it broke me out. So, I am not gonna use it. So much money down the drain!!
I am sticking to Sebamed spf 30 for now for daily use as it didn’t cause any breakouts at least and is very soothing to the skin after Glyco A usage.
Oh good that i skipped the matte one. You could wait and buy the matte sunscreen after checking the results with the max fluid..
