I am apst3 category…have been suffering from acne for 12yrs..my regimen
morning:sebamed antibacterial foam, suprotek gel
evening:himalaya deep cleansing apricot facewash n sunprotek
night:himalaya facewash , deriva cms
things that give me breakouts:
glyco6,kojivit gel,aha glow face wash, cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer, aroma magic hydro gel, lotus hydro gel,
tretinoin 0.025% (docs prescription )gives me rash n under eye dryness n rash …have tried it in intervals and still in vain, clindamycin doesn’t work, metrogyl plus causes redness in pimples n has actually stopped working
n now I’m taking minoz 50mg bd on docs prescription, vit d suppliments(recently diagnosed as deficient:9ng) and night deriva ms…….I have extremely sensitive skin which tends to break out on many products which proved to be of great success in the community(unfortunate :(…)..because of recent bout of acne left with hell lot of marks…..n as I told I’m unfortunate ,even kojivit broke me out…….hope u could come up with suggestions to clear dark marks
Hiya Sandy, since Deriva MS and Sunprotek are suiting you, you may even just skip the skin lightener part of the CPP Process to fade dark spots. Also, Sebamed Cleansing Foam lightens dark spots to an extent with its lactic acid. Rejuglow Gel could have been an alternative to Kojivit Gel, but it isn’t very different from it, and may even irritate the skin further with its extra ingredients.
What you could do is try a different skin lightener altogether, such as vitamin C. You can find vitamin C containing products in the reviews section under Dark Marks & Scars. Starting with a low % of vitamin C treatment can help fade marks. It is true, vitamin C can also irritate the skin, so you will need to tread carefully. Yet another quick route is to get a couple peels done at a reputed clinic. That way a clinician will inspect your skin and treat with moderately strong peels.
Thank u for the prompt reply……actually my doc is also facing a big time challenge vt my skin…..as many salicylic acid containing products broke me out ….my doc gave a mildest glycolic acid peel for less than a minute n as usual after a day I broke out terribly….given that I recently discovered tat I’m vit d deficient …I have no one to blame as I know my root cause….kaya pigmentation reducer gel also broke me out…so as per ur advice vl try vit c products…..
Hiya Sandy, tread very very carefully with vitamin C too, since it is an irritant, but if it works for you, it can fade marks fast. Also, if you are on vitamin D sachets, that high amount of vitamin D dries up the skin everywhere to the point that it flakes off, so you will see a greater even tone as you chug along with the vitamin D treatment. Also, there is a supplement called Methyl Sulphonyl Methane (MSM) that is a sulphur based, safe supplement that can help with evening out the skin tone, skin in general and hair. It can cause breakouts in some due to its detoxing action, so best check with your doc before trying it. I used MSM for a brief period and saw good results from it. I will probably resume it in the future.
Started vt vitamin did sachets from last week….as of now I haven’t faced any drying or flaking issues….vl check vt MSM…..
Can u please tell me the brand of MSM …..I vl check it up vt my doc….
The one I was using (discontinued it because I’m undergoing an allergy treatment and avoiding all supplements for now) is Vitamin Shoppe MSM 1000 mg from healthkart.
