BIODERMA SPOT SPF 50 Sunscreen – 5 stars!! It delivers!!

4

Hi all, just wanted to update everyone on the Bioderma Spot Spf 50 Sunscreen that I’ve been using for the past one week. Someone here wanted a review on that but unable to find that question link.  I have been using this for the past one week & it is absolutely wonderful in terms of consistency, matte finish, & really really prevents the tan from settling on the skin, For me that was the main issue for which I researched on & I am absolutely satisfied. No breakouts, skin feels very smooth after using this & it certainly will do the “PRESERVE” portion of your CPP regimen full justice. Within 4 days of using this, I saw a change in my skin & it was no longer the dull tan colour I used to see after my morning routine. I am seeing quite less difference between my face & other parts of my body now & YEAH , am I happy or what??? 🙂

It is available at www.vibeforall.in at 1185/- for a 30 ml tube. That’s the only downslide, it’s mighty expensive & might get over also very fast if you look at the liquid consistency but I really wanted something good for my mornings, so thinking of using it only in the morning & then switching to Suncote before leaving for work.  It’s also available at DermaVision at BTM Layout, Bangalore. It is a doctor’s skin clinic that also has a pharmacy inside. They stock all products like Avene, Bioderma, All ranges of Sebamed, Glomed, Keracnyl etc

Hi Anu,

The sunscreen is like a white creamy consistency which finishes quite transparent on the skin. The difference between Suncote & this is Bioderma is easier to apply as it glides smoothly on the skin & Suncote is well- kind of sticky like a gel if you know what I mean. In terms of finishing , I can’t say much coz I was quite happy with the finish of suncote as well.  This one finished quite decently & with a compact over it, you will be fine. But if you are looking for a very matte finish, then maybe not. I don’t have too oily a skin so this is fine for me usually.

I read on makeupalley that this sunscreen makes the skin oily and sticky. Is that true? What type of skin do you have?

Hi anuja, I have kind of combination skin which gets oily in the t zone typically but its not too oily, hope you understand what I mean. I jst have to dab a tissue on my nose couple of times and I am good. Rest of my face is quite normal. Regarding this sunscreen making the face oily, well maybe for very oily skins, it could do that but it kind of finishes smooth on the skin and if I powder my face with a compact gives a very  nice smooth coverage overall. That’s what I’ve been doing and I find it fine.

Hi LD – did you started using white objective serum (night version) or not yet.

Hi LD,

Here is my regimen

Morning –  Sebamed Cleansing Foam and and then Nivea advanced white moisturizing/whitening with spf30

After coming from office/ Evening – Wash face with  AHAglow

Night/Bed Time –  Sebamed Cleansing foam and then Triacneal

Alternate Days

Night/Bed Time –  Sebamed Cleansing foam and then Nivea advanced white moisturizing/whitening with spf 30

I am also taking Aloe veera juice and Orange juice (100% natural) for skin lighting and Vitamin C.

I ordered Apple cider vinegar juice bottle yesterday and it has tons of benefits.

I am planning to add bioderma white serum (night) to my regimen and neutrogena clear face sunblock sunscreen.

Once i finished Aloe veera juice bottle then i want to start Apple cider vinegar and baidhyanath rakht shodak tablets.

Results : –  My skin is getting clear (thanks to AM, Teju for their guidance). My dark marks are getting lighter. Scars are getting less visible.  Face is becoming less Oily. Triacneal is doing lot of magic for me 🙂  I want to add bioderma white serum and neutrogena sunblock sunscreen to maintain and preserve this result :):)

great Ashu, your regimen sounds perfect! and are your Vit D 3 levels okay? I started using the Bioderma Serum , Night for the past 4 days but i’ve deviated slightly from routine. Instead of using it in the night, I apply on my active spots & face in the morning after my gym routine & keep it on for about an hour & then wash it off whilst taking my shower. The reason I am doing this is the serum has vit C powder which you have to mix inside the bottle & use. Vit C is quite notorious for causing breakouts in acneprone skin & I did not want to take any chances with it by leaving it overnite. So I thought I would phase into it slowly. Also using Triacneal/ retino in the night can already make the skin irritable so adding the serum on top of it may not be a great idea to shock the skin suddenly with so many products.  SO Far , good but will know more after say 10 days maybe? will post a review on that as well. I would say try the Bioderma Spot Sunscreen instead of Neutrogena, somehow never been a fan of that brand, but it’s completely your call 🙂

LD – I am seriously thinking and i am in dilemma whether i should buy bioderma sunscreen or Neutrogena 🙂

Bioderma is pricey but value for money.

Neutrogena is less pricey, quantity is more… thinking….. will make a decision in a day or two 🙂

Take Care,

Ashu

Hey LD : )
Is this sunscreen transparent ? and does it atleast have a better finishing on the skin than suncote does ?

0

hey thanks for sharing that LD 🙂
and one more thing , you say you use it when you go to the gym so you probably know, does it really live up to its ‘water resistant’ claim ?

0

Hi Anu, Well I think it does because I use it when I go outside for my work out (not the gym) so I am exposed quite a bit in the direct sun for about 1.5 hours totally. So I would think it does stay on the skin despite the heavy sweating for about 2 to 3 hours. If you basically have a wheatish brown skin, you really cannot prevent the tan settling on your skin (which is a good sign as it prevents skin cancer & way of protecting your skin) but what I found was that it did not damage the skin. You need to reapply sunscreen after your shower & work out once again so that the tan effects are reversed. All in all, it is a good sunscreen.

Hi LD, I’m trying out Bioderma Photoderm Spot SPF 50+ sun cream these days. Got it from The Skin Store in Cambridge Layout (Indira Nagar). Do you know about it? They have all the high-end brands.

@anujaaggarwal, @rohini, @anu, it doesn’t give an entirely matte finish. It gives a glowy finish, but not shiny. There is no white cast that I can see on my wheatish skin. It does seem to make the skin look a tinge darker or duller, if you will. Nothing a spot of powder can’t fix if needed.

It is pretty similar to Avene High Protection Sun screen, same sweet sunscreen smell etc. but hardly any white cast compared to it. No eye irritation so far, either.
