Dermarolling – Is it really a hope for all acne scared faces?

0

Is anyone taking the course of Dermarolling by professionals?

Please post your experience here under. I am so interested in hearing about progress.

I have so many shallow holes on my both the cheeks and area around, that put me upset everytime I shave my face and look into the mirror. I even get an ugly urge of not shaving my face and keep these moles hidden under the hair, at least, for now this is the only way I have to keep them less noticable.
I positively see dermarolling of a help for treating them and hence coming out of this emotional suffering. Please post your experience.

Hiya Rohit, don’t lose hope. I’m on to something and if things work out, we should have something solid about it. Can’t promise anything yet. Yes, it will be nice to hear from more people who have actually gone through dermarolling.

Even I am waiting for the news AM !

Yesterday visited Kayas and the dermat suggested 2-4 dermaroller sessions and 6-8 cosmopeel sessions for me which totals over 25K! My scars are relatively less in number and to be honest they are only pigmentations, so I feel it should be corrected with facials itself. But in case it doesn’t happen I will have to take those sessions.

AM – is there any post with good dermats in metro cities? Like good or decent dermaroller treatments in Chennai, Hyd etc? I think some of us are been told exorbitant rates by some skin clinics :O Β If we have information on skin clinics and prevailant rates, it would be good, na?

All the best for your endeavours AM πŸ™‚

Hiya guys Rohit, @boss, it is actually not something I’m inventing but something I’m trying to procure for us all – reliable, clear information and some kind of proof, too, so we can choose scar treatments with greater confidence. There is a lot of confusion and uncertainty about which methods are best for what kind of scars and I hope to be able to compile a solid resource that we can turn to and decide better.

The options actually are all there with various clinics and dermatologists, and some of them can really do an awesome job of reducing the scarring, but the main problem is budget and trust. Treatments are expensive and even if one can afford those, there is a lot of doubt and suspicion around paying for services that may turn out to be disappointing.

I feel that a huge factor in opting for scar treatments is our fear of disappointment. If only someone could give us a guarantee that scars will be 100% gone, then we’d walk into that clinic and pay up for that package fearlessly. But it is hardly ever this easy. It all actually works in terms of percentages. I’ve jotted more about the issue of percentagesΒ in another thread, so perhaps check that out too. I hope something definite comes out of all this and keeping my fingers crossed too.

@acnemantra,

It is also the lack of Precise information and awareness that make us shell out more money on treatments. So far almost 99% of the members in this site would have got fooled by products that would have claimed to cure acne and give them clear skin.. as you would know.. even i was a victim..

Now we all know which products to choose.

With all hope and confidence i am waiting for the information that you are going to share. That is going to help us all and every penny that i shell out from my pocket would have a purpose.

I am sure we all would bless you for the efforts that you are taking to provide us the right path to take.

Do put up the post in the homepage… I am waiting.. We are Waiting.. πŸ™‚

Hi AM @acnemantra

My derma advised me to go for radio frequency for pitted scars. He asked me to go through www.invasix.com for its knowledge. However i went through it but couldnt understand much. Have you any knowledge about it? I have to decide between dermaroller or this RF treatment. My sitting will be tomorrow. I know i am asking details on a very short notice. But it would be very helpful if you have any idea..

Charges for both treatments are as:

Dermaroller: 1500/- for equipment & 2000/- per sitting (4 or 5 sitings)

RF treatment: 2500/- for equipment & 3500/- per sitting (4 or 5 sittings)

Hiya @shafaligarg, this reply comes a bit late, but I’m catching up with all the messages this Monday morning. I took at look at the invasix website and the research they have mentioned. They’ve listed tons of research on radio frequency for face lifts, skin tightening and body contouring, but there’s nothing on its effectiveness on acne scars.

That said, there’s quite a bit of empirical evidence suggesting that RF is safer for brown skin than laser in terms of the risk of hyper pigmentation resulting from skin burn. Both people and doctors are saying that RF is quite effective and safe. I don’t know if this will be more effective than dermaroller though.Β Has your doctor given you a comparison between the results of RF and dermaroller?

Thanks AM @acnemantra..i asked doctor for pics but he was not having any as he said he just came back from Israil after learning this..so i was going to be his 1st patient for this treatment..Acc to him, he was offering me good discount for this reason..Thus i opted for dermarolling as i dont want to take any risk..my sitting is tomorrow..saturday it got cancelled..

@shafaligarg,

Just a suggestion, you could probably add your photos before and after the dermarolling process.

This will give lotta people including me an idea about how effective it is .Β  Even i am planning for dermarolling. I am just in the lookout for a reliable clinic or dermat to get that done.

I second you! @Boss.

@Shafali a set of before and after photos will be a precious help at this point πŸ™‚

@boss & @rohit_r

I will surely do that..bt to see some effect, we need to wait for 6-7 weeks atleast..

@shafaligarg, @boss, Rohit, that’s a wonderful idea to keep a log with your “before and after each session” photos. That way, you will be able to get unbiased community feedback as well help out other who are on the fence about going for dermaroller treatments. Good luck girl, everything will go well! πŸ™‚
