Difference between isotretinoin and tretinoin?


difference between isotretinoin and tretinoin? is tretinoin safer than iso tretinoin for long term use?I m talking about topical gels not oral tablets ?

They are both retinoids, and are isomers which means they are almost the same thing, but arranged differently. This study and this study show that with isotretinoin gel, irritation is less and effectiveness is more when compared to tretinoin gel of the same strength. Another study shows that adapalene takes the cake with even less irritation potential and nearly the same effectiveness.
