0

Hi

Herez mah story!! but firstly i wanna tell you that i actualy love this site.. i m gainin loads of information.. waOoO.. u truely made mah day!! Anyhw.. I have an acne infact i do have small little tiny acne that actualy visible if somebody sees mah face very closely.. I m actualy pissed off… As we all says that little information is highly dangerous… that what exactly happened with meh… i just got to knw abt chemical peeling and without gaining enough of information i went to the doctor and got the first salicyclic peel… it was just horribling… not sure but my color complexation is getting darker and darker day by day… i starts hating my skin… specialy if i talk about my neck skin its so dry so dry i mean if i apply a moisture 8times den also it doesnt work… should i take salicyclic peel? is it fyn… specialy when the age is 25? infact i got some fine lines around my eye… coz of this peel i m highly scared not sure whats happening.. the doctor suggested me suncote gel, calak lotion, azimax 250 for 21 days and seba med clear face cleansing foam!! He told i dont have that much acne so I just require 5sittings and after this for color complexation.. i require 10 peels that he will tell later on!! i am seriously scared… i meaning peeling will gona make mah skin highly sensitive… what to do..

Is peeling fine? i have loads of difference in my body and face skin… and other alternative.. i use to intake 15glasses of water.. vitamin C… juices..fruits…vegetables… protein… not sure whats left!! Suggest meh ..

Thankz!!

The adverse reactions can be due to a high concentration of salicylic acid used on your face. Tejupriya has gone for salicylic peel recently , and it worked well for her. She might be able to guide you in this matter. I`m waiting for her response too. Different skin react differently to peels and the concentration used and also the procedure used matters. The  doctor is supposed to supervise the peeling session and when the skin starts reacting adversely or gets irritated , neutralise and remove the acid. The quality of acid used is also a factor . Shouldnt you let your skin rest and recover and avoid sunlight as much as you can during this period instead of going for another peel right now ?  Age is not the problem here.

Your acne is pretty superficial and not at all major – then you didnt require a peel in the 1st place I suppose. And even if you did , a lower concentration spaced out in multiple sittings shouldve improved your skin condition.

Your doctor must have told you the concentration of peeling solution used. When I had got peeling done, the doctor had used 15%, 20% and then 30% solution spaced 3 weeks apart. It was a mixed peeling solution with glycolic acid and kojic acid. You should ask your doctor about the concentration of the peel too. Start using AHA based product to ease into the process and then go for the higher concentration peel as AM suggested.

Or just give your skin a rest, use good moisturisers if it’s feeling dry and go for peeling after a few months when the skin is back to normal. Irritating the skin further when it’s not at its best will do more harm than good – and make it highly sensitive to sun too.

Hi Mansi, there is some peels discussion going on in this thread as well. https://acnemantra.com/questions/facials/ It is titled facials, but there is some talk of peels too. Check it out.

Natural texture of healthy skin is smooth, like a baby’s bottom. As we grow up/older, the rate of dead skin cells shedding slows down, so we start losing our baby-like smoothness even from our mid-twenties. Exfoliants like salicylic acid (BHA), glycolic acid (AHA) help the skin get rid of dead skin cells faster, making it look closer to your natural skin texture which is – smooth.

If you’re unsure about directly going for a high percentage peel, maybe ease into exfoliating products with milder products like AHAGlow face wash once a day. It contains 1% glycolic acid, which when used over a few weeks will give noticeable lightening of dark spots.

If you have any questions just post here. Also feel free to answer others’ questions and help them out if you feel like.

Hi Mansi..Your doctor prescription sounds fine..
Sebamed foam,antibiotic,sunscreen..
After chemical peeling it is very very necessary to use sunscreen..Then after some precautions also have to be followed like using a mild cleanser, oil free moisturizer, not washing face frequently,no other applications for 2-3 days..
If you neglect one of these, you will face this problem..
Salicylic acid peel is one of the mildest peel compared to others..
It is a starter peel,to bring down the acne..It is also help with marks as well..I am undergoing peel at Kaya..
There is no age restriction for peel,it can be done 16 onwards..
Chemical peel exfoliates the dead skin cells, unclog pores basically helps with skin renewal at a faster rate..
One more important thing is the concentration, type of peel used and duration..
Initially lower concentrations of mildest peel, duration is 4-5 minutes..Gradually after few sittings it is increased..

hello manasi

u said u don’t much acne problem then why ur dr gave antibiotic? i mean antibiotic helps in severe acne right? ur dr gave  antibiotic?

and one more thing mansi whts ur exact experience about peeling? wht was ur down time? i mean u can actually see ur skin peeling? and how much ur dr charge u for peeling?

0

Hi Pinky

I am just done with my 1st sitting and second sitting is on coming monday… i took a gap of 22days inbetween the sittings… it cost around Rs2500 per sitting… When the peeling was being done it was just horrible firstly i gt sum pink colored lines near mah eyes and finaly they turn up into brown colord layer… just near to the eyes not anywhere on mah face… skin use to irritate specialy when i use to go to gym!! 🙁  but for nw ollmost oll acne is gone but yes few red marks left due to pimples… i was going with this peeling just coz i can see 3-4 acne and yes most imp. d marks of pores and they sucks completely!! 🙁 But for now i am completely satisfied..

I got some tanning on neck and face as well so my next target is peeling for pigmentation!! 🙂 but again few pple says peeling means chemical it will make ur skin gd fr a while bt later u cnt live without sunscreen… bt its fyn!! 🙂

So mansi when u looked in the mirror u can saw ur skin was peeling?

0

So  r u going for ur second peel?

0

Pinky, when i had got peeling done, i did not notice peeling as such (like skin coming off) – you feel feel that your skin is rough and grainy. I think Rs.2,500 is too much for just one session. Doctors can do it for 1,000 bucks per session. I had got it done for Rs.800 per session.

Hi Anuja

From where u had ur peeling done ?

Hi Pinky

Same was mah case it was not that visible in d first attempt just near to that eye part… i realy wanna go with d second sitting as well coz i m finding my skin better den before but my bf is more afraid then me…lol. Funny bt true… its a evryday discussion “whether to go with it or not”.. sensitivity is the only issue!! Bt one of my knownz she said she dnt take facial and stuff and hv hd done 40 peelings till nw dat too strong one.. and i was lyk WHAT… her skin is pretty good but she is just 36yrs old nt sure what will be her future? hahaha.. i mean her skin… though for meh d doctor remmended jzz 5peels!! i am sure i will be going with the 2nd peel as well… one shuld always think of presence…lol. Future is already unpredictable!! 🙂
