Hello Acne Mantra, I have really bad cystic acne on my chin and jaw line. I just started using your starter regimen a few weeks ago– since I cannot get all the creams you recommend in my location, I am using Sebamed Cleansing Foam, Eau Thermale Avene Triacneal cream, and Sebamed Sun Care 50+ Sun Lotion. I have been using the first two products for about 1.5 weeks, and Sebamed Sunscreen for exactly 2 days. I now have a huge cystic pimple on my chin within less than 24 hours of using the sunscreen. Is it possible that the Sebamed Sunscreen is comedogenic for my skin? Has anyone else had this problem?
Hi Vishakha, I suppose this is the one you’re talking about.
The ingredient list shows 3 mildly comedogenic ingredients, which should be fine for most acne prone skins. Still, it is possible there’s something in it that is blocking your pores. Just yesterday we were having a discussion about titanium dioxide clogging pores. The best way of course would be to cut it out of your routine and see if the skin calms down.
Some people are using this sunscreen here, at SPF 30 strength without problems.
I found the mildly comedogenic ingredients by copy pasting this ingredient list on Skingredients. You can do that too for any skincare / makeup product.
Aqua, Dibutyl Adipate, Octocrylene, Titanium Dioxide, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Glycerin, Dimethicone, VP/Eicosene Copolymer, Panthenol, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Tocopheryl Acetate, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Silica, Benzyl Alcohol, Cellulose Gum, Parfum, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Palmitate, Cocoglycerides, Xanthan Gum, Sorbic Acid, Disodium EDTA, Lauryl Glucoside, Polyglyceryl-2 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Phenoxyethanol, Inulin, Dehydroacetic Acid, Lecithin
Hi Vishakha, It’s possible that Triacneal is bringing out the under the skin acne to the fore. I am not sure if Sebamed is breaking you out.
I am using Sebamed SPF 30 for the past 8 weeks & I am fine with it.
