i went to my dermatologist for an under eye peel treatment. post peel treatment he gave me a bit of neoskin to apply on my face. I kind of liked the fragrance of neoskin. I want to ask that can I use that cream as a sunscreen and moisturizer on a daily basis or not?
Hi Ankush, welcome to Acne Mantra! I found two versions of Neoskin on the ‘net. Which one is it that you are using? Neoskin cream with Clotrimazole 1.0%, Betamethasone dipropionate 0.05%, Neomycin sulfate 0.5% or this Neoskin?
The first one is a steroidal cream which is not advised for long term use because of real and frequent side effects such as steroid cream addiction, abnormal skin thinning and steroidal acne. It could be okay for use under the eyes for the prescribed duration, but should in no circumstance be used as a regular or daily cream. Perhaps search for steroid in the search box on the right to see discussions about it.
Stick around, read up. 🙂
I want to use the one manufactured by curatio . can i use it on a daily basis or not?
lactobionic acid, ceramide, jojoba, centellA ASIATICA, hyaluronic acid, lactokine and sunscreens …………these are the key or the major ingredients. however, they have mentioned few more but not as key ingredients. so, can i use it on a daily basis as a moisturizer? or even at night?
Ankush, my dear I have clearly understood now that you just want to know if you can use it on a “daily basis or not”. I get it. I get it. I got it the first time. The deal is this – if the cream contains pore-clogging ingredients, then it will cause pimples all over the face. So my replying in a hurry isn’t going to help you one bit. Next thing you know, you’ll be back blaming me for letting you use a bad product. So have patience and tell me what those other ingredients are.
Knowing key ingredients isn’t enough to tell whether a product is safe for acne prone skin or not. Your skin is acne prone, isn’t it?
my skin becomes acne prone randomly. currently I am using Azealic acid to treat acne and pigmentation together. my cosmetologist applied this cream called Neoskin over my skin after he completed my under eye peel. i somewhat, liked the fragrance. but, if you want the complete list of ingredients, i will visit a chemist to take down the complete list of ingredients.
Ankush, if you can take a photo of the tube ingredients whenever you can pass by the medical store, I’ll be able to tell you more. It does sound like a good product, but it will be irresponsible of me to tell you to just use it without knowing more about it. If it is non-comedogenic, then I agree, it could be a good daily / nightly use product.
If azelaic acid is working for you, then it might be a good idea to carry on with it. Azelaic acid itself as you already know helps with hyper pigmentation issues.
yea i will tell you the exact list of ingredients and I want to use this one just for moisturizing.
I am also little confused whether I can use the Curatio ‘NEOSKIN’ on a daily basis. I am talking about this product, please click on the below link.
Hiya @sree, without the full ingredient list, it is not possible to figure out if Neoskin can be used *ever* on acne prone skin, let alone on a daily basis. If someone can upload a picture of ingredients from the tube, it will become pretty easy to figure out its safety.
