0

Hi @acnemantra

my dermatologsit has suggested me to use acne moist. but i havent got any good reviews about it. I also went thorugh Acne mantra’s list of 12+ best moiusturizers for oily skin. but i am still confused which one to buy. Sebeamed is way to expensive. But my skin is quite oily and i prespire alot in summers. So i am looking for somthng  which will not make my skin more oily nor will cause acne.

Hi Anushree, if your skin is excessively oily in the summers, you really do not need to use moisturizer during summers. The sebum or skin oil itself is a moisturizer. For light moisturizing, you could consider using Aloe Veda Aloe Vera Gel.

Acne Moist is horribly comedogenic (I hope you went over the posts I directed you to) and bound to cause more pimples. This review page for Acne Moist will give you more information.

Am, what do u think about emolene? It never gv any breakouts

Hiya @nikitap, Emolene does not list the full ingredient list, it only says propylene glycol and diazolidinyl urea in a cream base. That cream base rings a bell, so I’m not sure about it. Maybe worth a shot.

Hi Nikita,

Emolene had given me breakout. Better to avoid. As AM suggested if your skin is oily then you don’t require a moisturiser, sunscreen is sufficient.

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative why don’t you think of Calamine lotion, either Markal or Calak………………just a thought.

Thanx evryone for your suggestions. Then i guess i would not use any moisturizer in summers. but in few months i’l be shifting to US. i guess there i’ll have to use one.

Also currently rite now i am using neutrogena black head eliminating toner.which is already making my skin little sticky.  do i need to switch to some other toner??

Hi Anushree, you do not need to use a toner as such. I understand your dermatologist asked you to use CTM, but in this day and age, it is not so much about product labels such as toner, moisturizer etc. as the functionality you want them to serve. So, please don’t force products on your skin that you do not need. The only products from what I see that you need right now are a good oil-control face wash and an acne treatment. I’ve made two face wash recommendations in your other thread, they should help. Then if needed, you coudl build up your routine by adding more products.

Hi Anushree, If you are moving to US in a few months, the best moisturizer to use would be CERAVE After PM moisturizer which is oil free, paraben free, without any additives or perfumes. It is the most widely recommended dermatologist recommended moisturizer in the US. It is budget friendly too & a drug store brand which you can find in your local Walgreens, Longs Drugs etc.  It has niacinamide & helps a little in anti ageing too. You could skip the toner bit. If your skin is too oily, you could skip moisturizer too completely but depending on where you are going to be in the US, you might have to use a wee bit moisturizer.
