plz suggest some treatment to get rid of my acne quickly.
thank u for ur kind words gswey 🙂
definitely hats off to acnemantra.. 🙂 🙂
i use clean and clear skin balancing moisturizer and maybelline mousse foundation along with maybelline matte compact/loreal true match compact..
i dont prefer using foundations daily..
my daily make up is sunscreen , moisturizer, compact..
hey thanx Lalitha,
i took your suggestion and started using the products that you recommended but the only problem is dat it has led to peeling of my skin near my mouth and faced. i guess its coz of adaferin so should i discontinue it or reduce its frequency??
also is there any dark spot remover cream that you can suggest and also face wash as AHAglow doesn’t remove all the dirt and stickiness for me…
hi gressa for now discontinue for 2-3 days so that the skin will resume to normal..at the same time add a oil free moisturizer..
apply adapelene on alternate nights..
for scars u can try kaya spot reducer gel..
for few more options check this link
when ur acne is under control u can look into cpp regimen for fading of scars
greases sea, if you use make up, it’s always better to use a makeup remover (color bar or bioderma) with a cotton pads and then use aha glow. It will remove all traces of make up and skin will feel fresh.
regards to peeling, you must anyways avoid near the mouth and nose areas as that place is very sensitive. Stick to places which are problem zones for the applications. Use seamed clear gel or aloe hydra moisturiser to soften the skin.
right now concentrate on getting the acne under control and then move forward to scar reducers.
Hi Gressa just wanted to know if your acne on cheeks is under control now? are you seeing any improvement and has the dryness & peeling stopped or improved?
yes little bit better still there are few acnes but not as bad as previous ones. and yes reduced drastically… thank you for your suggestions 🙂
Hi, I somehow feel that compact powders tend to exagerate the open pores and pitted scars. May be liquid foundations would work better. I could be wrong though as I dont have much experience with make-up. If I would want to keep it simple and use only product ( foundation/compact ) on a daily basis then what would you suggest ? Idea is just to even out the skin tone and make the face look fresh .
Hi Angel..I dont prefer to use foundations every day..
My Daily Make up is Sunscreen,Moisturizer and Compact..
So my pick is Compact for daily basis..
Hi angel, if u want to use one product that would cover all ur concerns in makeup, then i would say go for Mac Studio fix powder plus foundation. It comes in a compact form but is much more than just a compact. It is a unique product with both foundation n powder combined to give one step makeup application. It can be used as a sheer to full coverage foundation depending on how u use it. Also every skin tone is likely to find a match since they hv sm 30 plus shades. For indian skin tones with yellow undertones shades in the NC range r prefered unless u r extremely fair with pink undertones u would need NW range. The SA at Mac help u find the right shade but i’d say try it in the store n keep it for a couple of hrs to know how it works before buying since it doesn’t come cheap. Rs. 1800 for 15 gm.. But it lasts really long even if u use it every single day. So it is definitely worth the price. Nothing works as good for me n trust me i hv tried everything under the sun. Its my HG product in makeup foundation. Hope this helps..
A cheaper alternative on a similar line is Colorbar Triple Act Compact, oil free and light application..
Yes, I’ve used MAC Studio Fix powder plus foundation couple of years back & it is indeed very good. Gives good coverage depending on how you want to use. But I wouldn’t know if it would break you out as I used it at a time when I had absolutely no acne. Would always advice you to use a good brush ( you can buy that from Mac itself) & do a light dusting all over the face instead of using a wedge or sponge. Way better to avoid acne! Revlon has a similar one called Photo Ready pressed powder foundation- OIL Free , Non Comedogenic ( all the works at a 1/4 of the cost of MAC) & to be applied in the same manner. I use it now & find it to be good. Take your pick from the above choices 🙂
Thanks girlies 🙂 ( How I love make up talk !!)
Tejupriya, isn’t Colorbar Triple action cream based and not powder ? I had tried it at a Colorbar counter some time back and thought it gave me a heavy/cakey look and highlighted some dryness on my skin ( esp the dry cheeks). Will give it one more shot !
Thanks Anamika, yes Mac studio fix powder is a HG compact for a lot of people. Does it give a very dry and matte look ? I have combination skin with dry cheeks and was wondering that it might look very dry.
Lalitha, thanks again. You are the powehouse of information 🙂 Revlon’s photo ready powder was reviewed by AM and was voted as it would probably cause breakouts. Review here https://acnemantra.com/face-powders-compact-india/. If its working for you then its probably worth a shot.
Also, I do like a dewy look but not like shimmer particles splashed on my face. How does this one score on that count ?
MAC Studio Fix Powder is very matte and unless you have slightly oily skin, it makes the face look like a flat surface. More so, because the coverage is high, so all contours and natural angles of the face look flattened out. But this was just my experience. 🙂
To avoid a cakey look, using a flat, dense brush (like Sigma F80 or the now discontinued Bourjois buffer brush) works best for both powder and cream foundations.
Hi Angel, the one reviewed by AM here is different from the one I have with me. Maybe I am missing some words from the box. Let me check what exactly I have & will let you know. And NO, there is no shimmer particles, just plain coverage. I’ll get back to you with the exact shade & maybe I’ll do a check with the skingredients tool as well to see if it is acnegenic.
Thanks Lalitha, that will help immensely. The one reviewed by AM also said Revlon Photo ready compact powder, hence was wondering. Let me know.
And yes AM, I do agree with you. I tried Mac at the counter and it did make my face look very dull and flat. I want something which will give a fresh and even look ( may be its called dewy look 🙂
Hi Angel..It isnt creamy like foundation..You can still feel the powdery consistency..It isnt heavy as much..I found it suitable for daily wear and not to forget the availability of dusky shades..
Hi Angel, Just sharing an experience with you, I had once been to Sephora & had visited the store to buy some foundation & compacts. The make up assistant there was a very nice girl who was well informed & she helped me out with some choices. She also secretly told me not to waste money on foundations, compacts etc & said since I had a slightly combination skin ( Oily T Zone), the best option for us would be to use a light tinted moisturizer (Oil free) & then just dust a bronzer on the cheeks, nose , forehead & chin. She actually did it for me & showed me the difference. She also mentioned that medium skin tones (like mine) look better with this rather than foundation. I actually ditched all the foundation, compacts & finally settled on Laura Mercier & Sephora Oil Free tinted moisturizer in Beige. I also purchased a lovely bronzer from the Sephora Brand itself & used it for almost a year & half. It was so good. I really loved the sheer coverage it gave & the dewy effect you want. But now I am forced to use a little foundation as I have some post acne scars, so the crux of the matter is, If you don’t have any visible scars, why don’t you try the Clinique tinted moisturizer (Oil Free) followed by a bronzer? maybe you would get the fresh dewy look!
Yes, the honest SA may have just passed on a mantrs, for medium to dusky skin tones ( I am NC 42) matte foundations and heavy compacts can make the look very flat and lifeless sometimes. That’s why was considering a BB cream at one point of time ( but none of them passed the Skiningredients test !!). Was looking at Chambor sheer delight and Clinique Even Better makeup foundation, will check on clinque tinted moisturiser now. I do have some scars but beyond a point I don’t care much, as long as the skin feels and looks fresh 🙂
Hi Angel, so I’ve come back to you with the name of the Revlon product. It is Revlon Photo Ready Two Way Powder Foundation SPF 19 & lists avobenzene & titanium dioxide as active ingredients- 2% each. Also mentions Oil Free, Non Comedogenice. The shade I have is Medium Beige. I am unable to get the full ingredient list. Will check & let you know. AM – is this the same one you reviewed? do you think this product is ok to use ? I’ve been using it for quite a while now.
Hi lalitha ..
AM has reviewed this
And you are using different one
Full ingredients list not available..
It only lists active ingredients..
I checked the reviews and it has not caused breakouts..Its pretty positive..
