Removing Suncote from the regimens, please help?

0

Hi folks,

Suncote is a pretty safe product acne-wise, but it looks like people are being able to tell who goes to Acne Mantra simply by the shine on our faces. That is good, because at least they are not focusing on our pimples.

But, it is time we need a less shiny alternative to Suncote Gel. 👿

I’m thinking of including one or more of these sunscreens as the main sunscreens in the regimens and mentioning Suncote Gel as an alternative product. Please post here what you think of these sunscreens.

Sunprotek SPF 30+ / SPF 50+ gel (price is reasonable, approx. Rs. 250 for 60 gm, not sure)

Bioderma Photoderm Spot SPF 50+ (Rs. 1185 for 30 ml) not easy to find, not a matte finish, but not very shiny either, hasn’t broken me out (APST 3)

Avene high Protection Sun Cream SPF 50+ (doesn’t break me out, but leaves a little bit of a white cast, glowy finish, but not shiny)

LA Shield (someone posted very good things about it)

Zoray Sunscreen Gel (someone posted good things about it)

– Sebamed Sun Care lotion SPF 30 onwards

Hello AM,

I think SunProtek cgel does suit us during winter. Coz it contains moisturizer.

How about photoblock sunscreen cream?

Hiya @payal are you using Sunprotek Gel? Yeah, a moisturizing sunscreen is a good idea for winters.

@jassi0302 that’s great then you could tell us. @rajeev is also using it. I’m myself trying to locate Sunprotek here in Bangalore, but it looks like it is more easily available in North India.

Hi AM,

Idea is good. But all the sunscreens which you have mentioned are pricey. Sunprotek is not easily available in S. India. May be in Delhi and surrounding areas it is available. I have searched in B’lore but could’nt find one. I have heard sunprotect of Torrent Pharma is not a fool proof one.

Suncote with a calamine lotion like Markal is still the solution for matte free look. Thanks to B’lore weather now my face is not that shining by using suncote. Question is  – is there any sunscreen better than suncote and keeps our face a matte look in all weather conditions??????

SUNSCREEN GEL 50+ SPF UVA/UVB EXTENDED BROAD SPECTRUM PROTECTION

i am using sunprotek spf30.I must say that  it is really a great product. Totally love it.

It moisturizes the skin so well that i dont need to put an extra layer of moisturizer (yayyy 🙂 )

Also, It doesn’t leave any white ghostly kinda cast on face, rather it feels very light on skin and gets absorbed in a couple of secs.

i have got it from a local medical store(west Delhi) at Rs.628 for 100gm.

But i don’t understand one thing…when the texture of this sunscreen is cream type then why do they call it a gel  0:))

Anywaz…overall rating is 5/5 from my side.

I hv used la shield sunscreen gel. N found it pretty gud. It vs prescribed by my dermatologist few months back.

Its SPF 30 so m not sure abt protection. But its really non greasy, no white cast n easily absorbed by d skin. They also claim dat its oil free n non comedogenic , which u’ll discover urself , while using.

Though they call it as gel but its more lyk a cream.  While browsing net I found tbat its priced Rs 650 for 60 gm but I remember buyin it arnd 900 bucks  few month back frm a local pharmacy store in bhopal.

I would surely say dat La shield is worth trying.. 🙂

Sebamed 30 SPF is also good, but i don’t think it is water proof as it claims to be. Otherwise i quite like the watery texture, easy spreadability, and  less greasy feeling (as compared to suncote). I have used it many times on and off so i am not sure if it has caused any breakouts. Once i use it regularly, then i can be sure. I plan to use it now onwards unless i face any problem. You cannot use it if you plan to sweat soon after applying it – like right before going for your morning walk. Otherwise it will run in white streaks along with the sweat. But if it is absorbed for 1-2 hours, then it will not run. Hope this helps. I will let you know how it works out for me after a couple of weeks.

@jassi0302 @keepcalmandcureacne is using Sunprotect by Torrent Pharma. It is a lotion and the last I heard, it wasn’t breaking her out. Still, best to check with her before getting it.
