Shampoo for oily hair that will not cause acne?

0

Hi..I  have  oily  and  acne  prone  skin  with  oily  hair. Clarifying  shampoos  from  leading  brands  like  Paul  Mitchell  contain  comedogenic  ingredients  like  panthenol  and  wheat germ oil  amongst others. This  results  in  breakouts  on  forehead  and  sometimes  other  portions  like  the  back  get  affected  too. Can  you  please  recommend  shampoos  for  oily  hair  that  will  not  aggravate  the  acne.

Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo cleans oily hair well and contains tea tree oil to keep acne (should work for back acne too if it drips there). There is also a tea tree oil conditioner to go with it. Here’s a review of Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo where someone says it works well for their oily hair and prevent forehead acne. It still contains wheatgerm oil, but the tea tree component seems to overpower its pore-clogging action.

If nothing is working, then using a dandruff shampoo (even if you don’t see dandruff flakes in your hair) often helps. Head and Shoulders has many variants, Head & Shoulders Shampoo-Clean & Balanced being one of the milder ones.

Hi Jhumki, it should be fine as long as you bend your head forward and drain all the water off away from your beck, back and face.
