How is Sheer Cover mineral makeup for acne prone skin?

Is Sheercover a trusted brand of makeup that can be used on oily acne prone apst type 3 skin ? Since brands like Mineralissima (they have zinc oxide , titanium dioxide , minerals (pure) , no fillers , no bismuth oxychloride ) and Adorn Minerals are not available in india , to cover up the disgusting acne , while the skin is getting better , would sheercover be an okay choice ?

Here is the ingredient list :(from the website ,

Boron Nitride, Bisabolol, Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract, May Contain (+/-): Zinc Oxide (CI 77947), Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Mica, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499) and it does have bismuth oxychloride , but not in the 1st three ingredients.

The concealer on the other hand looks safer.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Octyldodecanol, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Jojoba Esters, Polyethylene, Ethylhexylglycerin, Stearalkonium-90 Bentonite, Dimethicone, Allentoin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Propoylene Carbonate, Phenoxyethanol. May contain (+/-): Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)

I want to go off makeup , but then , I do need a li`l something for my scars , cause they still need time to fade , and some of them will stay on anyway…so. Your opinion would be valuable.

Sheer Cover is distributed by the same company Guthy Ranker which also sells Proactiv. Both products are quite the rage in the U.S. with infomercials airing 24/7 on some channel or another.

It is surprising that Sheer Cover India does not list the ingredients of Sheer Cover products. They talk all about the products, but skip the mention of ingredients. Anyway, it is pretty tempting to give it a shot given that they have a money back guarantee.

I’m planning to do a whole post about mineral makeup options in India, because this is an area I’ve not explored too much since coming back to India. There are also mineral makeup options from L’Oreal Paris, Maxfactor etc. The L’Oreal one broke me out.

I agree with you about bismuth oxychloride in the foundation.

My worry about the concealer is the presence of waxes in it, although people don’t seem to be breaking out from it from all the reviews I’ve come across. The powder foundation I’m not so sure about since people have reported their skin getting oilier from using it.

For acne scars, concealer is one’s best friend. The rest of the face can do with sheer coverage. For this purpose Sheer Cover duo seems to fit the bill. From what I have read, Sheer Cover concealer has pretty good coverage for acne scars and dark marks.

There seems to no way to select just the concealer to try it out first. You have to pay Rs. 3450 + 300 = Rs. 3850 for the whole kit.

A post about concealing acne scars is coming up soon. I understand your wanting to switch to less chemical based makeup.

i have read proactiv isnt all that good..i applied that proactiv refinfing mask as spot treatment,im not hesitant to apply over entire face..instead i found ducray triple refining mask and acnefree sulphur some positive stuff about these..what are ur views on that?

I used Proactiv for years (not in India). It did not clear my acne. Sulphur in any form is good for acne. I’ve only used Proactiv sulphur mask, but Ducray and Acnefree sound promising too. Let me read up more about them. Perhaps a post on sulphur masks…

oh that will be great..what do u think of exposed skin care for acne?they have great range from supplements, cleanser, tonermderma cloth etc?
