So I recently got my hands on Sunprotek SPF 50 gel sunscreen (I directly contacted the company and they gladly couriered the product from Delhi to Chennai, now that is called caring for your customers!). But I noticed that even though the sunscreen doesn’t break me out it leaves me looking very shiny and a compact becomes a must after it. I am using the Lakme perfect radiance intense whitening compact. I get pimples on and off and I haven’t been able to figure out if the compact breaks me out or not.
It is anyway time for me to replace this compact since it is a year old. Just wondering which one should I repurchase? I am looking for a non comedogenic daily wear compact which doesn’t break the bank. I have APST 2.5-3 type skin.
I was also wondering how do you keep the compact sponge clean or how often do you replace it?
Thanks in advance!
@AM Would be great if you could respond to this 🙂
Hi @shikha11 i use the same compact and i ve been a little on and off about whether it breaks me out too.but it do know it doesn’t give good oil control in summer.there is an article in this website it’s got reviews of 9 compacts for oily acne-prone skin.you can type it in the search box and find it.personally i would recommend lakme 9to5.it’s got good oil control.but i am not sure if it ll break out or not.cos i got pimples when i was using them but i was just figuring out my regimen then.
you can use a compact as long as it’s not expired.do not loose the circle plastic cover they keep inside the compact between the powder and the sponge and make sure you close it after usage in the same order.powder-plastic covering-sponge.
by the way you can tag AM “@acnemantra”.
Hi Bargavi! Thanks for your response. 🙂
I know the lakme radiance compact doesn’t give great oil control but I am okay with it since I usually blot/wash my face with plain water sometime during the middle of the day. I have already gone through the article which compares compacts but I was still confused and not able to make my mind after reading it.
Lakme 9 to 5 compact is probably something I would like to try. I wish someone who is using it could give a good review of it.
@acnemantra Would like it if you could respond to this query. Thanks 🙂
I wish the same for lakme 9to5 too.but since lakme is not giving ingredient details on it no one’s able to come to a conclusion about it being comedogenic or it’s opposite.anyway after finishing my current perfect radiance compact i am thinking about buying Maybelline clearglow all in one fairness compact powder spf26PA++, costs 185 for 9 grams. it’s the second most recommended in our reviews.the first is MAC studio fix powderplus foundation but it costs 1800 for 15 grams-way out of my budget.maybe i ll buy it after i finish my studies while going for a job 🙂
I remember community members talking about mixing sunprotek with calak to make it matte. You could probably search it.
I’m currently loving Colorbar Perfect Match compact <3 Although I don’t use it everyday.
