Hi, Has anyone used Sunprotek 30+/50+ Gel or the Sunprotek 30+ lotion. Which one is better? Has anyone checked the ingredients if they are non comedogenic?
I checked in a handful of stores in Bangalore and couldn’t find them.
Here are the active ingredients
Aqua, Ethylhexyl methoxy cinnamate, Benzophenone-3, Butyl methoxydibenzoyl
methane, Phospholipinds, Propanediol, Glycerin, PEG-12 Dimethicone,
Polyacrylate, Polyisobutene & Polysorbate 20, Acrylates /C10-30 Alkyl Acrylates
Crosspolymer, Allantoin, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera, Chamomile Extract,
Phenoxyethanol, Disodium edetate, Perfume.
Hiya PD, whether gel is better or lotion it all boils down to whether it is acne-safe or not. Sun protection is important, but the sunscreen being non-comedogenic is the first requirement otherwise you’ll be stuck fielding new pimples.
The first thing is to know what kind of ingredients to avoid. This is the post to help you get up to speed with that quickly.
The short answer is – Sunprotek lotion is comedogenic and gel isn’t. You can order Sunprotek from healthkartplus or get Zoray Aquagel Sunscreen Gel SPF 30 instead.
Also, a list of only active ingredients means it is not a full list. In this case, this is actually the “full ingredient list”, not just “active ingredients”.
Also, here’s the reviews page for Sunprotek Gel SPF 50+.
Any Seba-med sunscreen alternatives available in Bangalore that are non comedogenic? They surely should have a good one when the clear cleansing gel has worked wonders for most of us.
PD, there’s also La Shield sunscreen SPF 30 PA+++ that community members have reported success with. You can find it at The Skin Store as well. Since The Skin Store (at least the one I go to in Indira Nagar) has testers, you could apply a bit of it and test it out for any breakouts before purchasing. If you don’t see breakouts, you could purchase it on your next visit.
Ok u tempted me, picked it up this evening from trust pharmacy in BTM Layout. Found it pretty expensive so I just hope it works for me. Will keep you updated.
