I have a lot of white heads on the chin, around the lips and nose. Also the skin around the chin ,corners of the mouth are darker than the rest of the face. Can you suggest any solution please?
Can anybody help me please?
Hi psgg, the first thing is to control the whiteheads of course. Then you could take steps to deal with the discoloration around the mouth. What products are you using currently? Just list all of them including any shaving cream, face powder etc. (depending on if you are a boy or a girl).
In the meantime, go through this page carefully, slowly, following every link in order to understand what kind of products to stop using now and what to do instead of keep skin clear. 🙂
Thank you so much AM for your reply.
I am a female . I have never stuck to one kind of products(frantically trying different products in market). That is why I didnt mention about them.Currently I am using Ponds whitening facial foam. When I was in India last time a dermatologist prescribed HHderm,Advan cream and some multivitamin tablets. With in 1 month the dark discoloration in the chin area disappeared completely but the white heads were still there. Now that the HHderm got over ,the chin color again got darkened.I am still using Advan cream ,not regular though.Other than these I dont use any other products.I have a combination type of skin.
Since most of the products you have advised here are available in Indian medical stores I would really appreciate a quick reply as I am leaving to India tomorrow.
Hi psgg, Pond’s Whitening Facial Foam is comedogenic, which means it clogs pores and causes pimples. This could well be the reason behind your whiteheads if not the only reason. HHDerm cream contains a steroid, which has dangerous side effects when used over the long term. Search for steroid in the search box on the right to know more about them.
I’d say you start with a clean slate by reading up on acne basics so you know what type to products to avoid and what to look for instead. Once you understand that, you will be able to pick products irrespective of whether you are in India or not. Start reading here and please post any questions you may have. The more you read here, the clearer everything will become, including your skin. 🙂
I have been in Budget regimen since 2 weeks. Now I am in the third week.Even now I am getting a lot of white heads . I use Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash morning, afternoon and at night.Suncote gel in the moring after using face wash.I dont use any moisturizer. Also Kojivit gel,Glyco 6 in alternate nights.Yesterday only I managed to get Sebonac gel.So I had been using Keracynl cream instead(alternate nights).Since I dont get any dark spots or pimples, is it okay to apply kojivit gel on the chin and nose where the white heads are more?I am also using Medimix soap. Please guide me ,What modification should I do in my routine to get rid off these white heads?I cannot stop myself from sqeezing the white heads out with the fingers 🙁 please help
Hi psgg, cut out Medimix soap, glyco 6 and Keracnyl cream for now. Kojivit is not for curing whiteheads, so no point applying it there. It is for reducing the dark spots left by old pimples. Go through the Budget Regimen post carefully to understand how to use Sebonac and other products mentioned in there. Glyco 6 is no longer recommended for use with that regimen. Also, go through this Regimen Troubleshooting Guide for more info on how to get back on track.
Its been 2 weeks since I have been using Sebonac gel.I can really see some difference now.Thankyou so much.I have few more questions. Suncote gel is making my face too oily.I know suncote is no more part of the budget regimen. Will Proactiv Daily Protection Plus Sunscreen a good alternative? How long will I have to stick to the regimen? Is the long term use of Sebonac or Kojivit gel safe?Is it okay to manually extract white heads? Can Sebonac gel be used twice a day?
