Winter dry face? This may help

2

Hi guys, so looks like all the acne prone people are suffering more than ever as winter is fast approaching. It is not enough to deal with acne, but now we have to put up with dry skin as well. You already know that most moisturizers and creams are pore-clogging. So it is a choice between clear but dry skin and moisturized but pimpled skin.

I’ve been desperately looking to find a good moisturizer that we can use, but until then, there’s something else you can use.

Enter Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion. Not the moisturizing lotion, but the cleansing lotion. After washing your face with your regular face wash, take Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion on a cotton ball  and swipe it gently across the face. It is a thick lotion, and will instantly relieve stretchy feeling, peeling skin and that white ash that comes on dry skin.

You do not need to wash it off. Cetaphil Cleasing Lotion can be left on the skin, it is okay. The packaging mentions that. A dermatologist had also mentioned it to me long ago. I use this method whenever I see a lot of dryness such as around the mouth etc.

I don’t know whether this will be enough for very very dry skin, but do give it a shot.

Note: Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion comes in two variants. Sensitive Skin and Oily Skin. Don’t get the oily skin one – it has castor oil among other things which can cause breakouts. We’re talking about the sensitive skin one here.

Also note: The cotton ball method will ensure that you are only applying the minimum product needed. This will avoid a shiny look. Also, you can rinse your face with water afterward if you do not need this much moisturizing.

Wow this is jut in time isn’t it 🙂 was wondering can I also dab the cleansing lotion in flaky areas as touch up during the day after acne treatment application?

I really really need help in finding the right , doesnt-cost-the-moon , easily-available 😛 moisturiser…my skin`s super dry , and it`s flaking – so I need a good hydrating non comedogenic moisturiser. For night I use a few drops of baby oil to remove the flakes and then wash off with aha glow – should I do the same in the morning ? I had used cetaphil cleansing lotion – it makes me look dull…butif all else fails , maybe I`ll go back to it… love you all.

Thank u so much @am, I would try this. Applying with a cottom ball ensures the righr amount of the lotion and also in a way cleanses the skin.

@keepcalmandcureacne, you can also try this with any other non-comedogenic cleansing milk. That should also work I guess. Maybe aroma magic’s cleansing varieties.

lavanya ca u tell about name of non comedogenic cleansers from aroma .i know one is mint cleanser i think.

Hiya @keepcalmandcureacne, you could try Aroma Magic Hydro Gel. It is a lightweight moisturizer but still a bit more moisturizing than plain aloe vera gel. Otherwise, swipe with baby oil + wash with AHAGlow should also work in the morning. Try using any other face wash than AHAglow, otherwise it will cause more dryness. Yeah, this Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion is more like a plan B.

@jassi0302, aroma magic has turmeric cleanser and aloe vera cleanser. I have tried all the variants and none of them broke me out. But since aroma magic does not disclose its full ingredient list, it is difficult to tell about the comedogenicity. It is cream based so leaving it on the skin as is would not be advisable. But we can try one thing. Wash the face as usual with our routine face wash. Then lightly massage the aroma magic cleanser and rinse it off with water. This way , the cleanser would get washed out but the face still remains moisturized.@am,@keepcalmandcureacne,
There is another cleanser named Episoft which is even milder than cetaphil and it does not contain any parabens. A good alternative for those whose skin is sensitive to even Cetaphil and for those who do not like cetaphil. I personally like cetaphil though

Guys,

Where i can get this “Cetaphil lotion for sensitive skin” online.  I checked “medplusbeauty” and other sites. Either it is out of stock and not available.

Thanks,

Ashu

Guys,Sunprotek50 could be a good choice as a moisturiser cum suncreen.I have been using it for a month now.just for two or three days i skipped it to see the difference what i noticed dry and flaky skin due to winters.as soon as i continued it again my skin became normal. It is because it contains phospholipids which bind 23 water molecules with its one molecule.although i knew about its phospolipids property just to ensure it i skipped it for 3 days.It doent claim to be hypoallrgenic and non comedogenic. However,it is.

@keepcalmandcureacne,just to inform u that hydrogel is not non comedogenic.it broke me out.i still have it with me.However,i dont use it.it even stings.after using it i had to use steroid cream also to get rid of the irritation it gave me.it doesnt list full ingredients list .Whosoever doesnt list full ingredients list is a dud for me *thug style* in ur vernacular 🙂
